India, Calcutta prepares itself to accommodate the tanneries fleeing from Kanpur: 140 million Euros ready for investments

About twenty tanners from the Chennai and Kanpur districts have reportedly decided to invest a sum equal to just under 140 million Euros in the Calcutta tannery complex development project. The minister for Industrial Activities of the State of West Bengal announced this news with satisfaction to the local press. According to his projections, the complex of 20 tanneries within one location measuring approximately 10 hectares would lead to the creation of 6,000 jobs, plus another 4,000 in satellite activities. The local Government, that takes charge of the water treatment plant as well as the construction of two training institutes, is preparing the local area to accommodate those companies that are fleeing from the other districts.
