International tanneries take part in Lineapelle92 as they want to get over 2016 bad outcome: “Looking out for recovery”

High expectations on the fair second day. ”Second day turnout is usually higher – say representatives from Curtidos Parera, the Spanish tannery, based in Valencia, specialised for reptile skins – We do need that, after a very tough 2016. As for new business contacts, coming up at the fair, many international visitors, no Italian deal yet though”. Lineapelle, the major international leather fair, in the works at Fieramilano Rho until tomorrow (23 February) houses international exhibitors eager to compete to restore their business turnover in 2017.” Prospects for 2017, just started, are good-says Sèbastien Croidieu, Sales Manager for French Tanneries Roux. Still we are concerned about tanning raw materials, whose price is about to raise; besides that, fashion brands demands are going down”. Lluìs Balsells Cruañas, export manager for Catalan Riba Guixà, is optimistic: “Sale profits in the first 2 months of 2017 have been better than 2016, same period – he points out. Higher turnover, as fashion brands create samples and new experimentations: energy is in the air”. Will this positive mood turn into business at this point?
