Raw materials, in Australia bad weather and public holidays bring slaughterhouses to a halt: availability reduced

Adverse weather conditions in March and part of April, which together with the overlapping of public holidays that have deleted several working days from the calendar. The combination of the two factors has caused a slowdown in the Australian meat industry. According to Steiner Consulting, for example, export activities of red meat from Canberra to the USA in April were halved compared to the volumes recorded the year before. In the same way, according to the Sauer Report, in a panorama that has witness the alternation of companies open, yet which are few and far between, while others have preferred to remain closed, up to 20-25% of production capacity has been lost. The effect has particularly affected the availability of raw material which has suffered a reduction.
