Talking about tanning raw material, Belarussian market has been traditionally rather closed. Things are getting even stricter now. In fact, they decided to ban raw hides export, from June 20 onwards. As reported by Belarus News press agency, in order to “foster and boost domestic leather industry” Belarussian government definitely stopped export of raw hides abroad. For the records, they had already implemented a restriction system based on permits and minimum prices. Potential buyers of Belarussian tanning raw material must now obtain a special license issued by BUCE, the Commodities trade national Agency.
