After the rumours, Dani clarifies the situation at its Slovenian plant

Dani has not decided to close its Slovenian plant. Contrary to what has been reported by some local media outlets (which even wrote that a closure date had already been scheduled), the Vicenza-based leather group has clarified that “the situation is currently under evaluation and in-depth analysis”.

The situation, therefore, is still evolving. “The severe crisis affecting the European automotive sector is having a heavy impact on our operating costs and on the entire production chain”, Dani Group said in a statement. “The Slovenian plant in Slovenj Gradec is directly dependent on a recovery in the automotive market, which is experiencing instability with significant fluctuations in demand, in addition to rising energy and raw material costs”. The assessment process will take time. “We are exploring every possible option to identify a sustainable solution that safeguards all stakeholders. Any decision will be officially communicated in the coming months with the utmost transparency”.
