Danish Ecco resists the global shoe crisis: more volume, steady turnover. 2017 In line with 2016

“Despite the slow global growth in the world’s footwear industry, rising production costs and fierce competition in 2016, Ecco has achieved a satisfactory financial result by gaining market share,” said Steen Borgholm, Ecco’s new Danish Managing Director unveiling the brand’s sales figures. In 2016, the shoe group increased the volume of pairs of shoes sold by 5%, reaching a turnover of 1.251 billion euros, in line with the previous year. Turnover has dropped from 183 million to 170. The current year, according to Borgholm, will be equally difficult, but “since we have taken many initiatives, increased investment and strengthened the organisation, we expect a result at least equal to the 2016 “concluded.
