Car interiors, Lear Corporation opens the hub of creativity in Detroit in synergy with colleges and universities

“The hub of art, creativity, automotive advanced concept development and hands-on learning for students”. This is how Lear Corporation, leading supplier of interiors for the car industry, defines the new centre for innovation opened in Detroit in synergy with the College for Creative Studies (CCS) and the Wayne State University (WSU). The American company has invested 10 million dollars in building the new creative hub. This means placing a huge bet on the intelligence of the younger generations for Lear which, in the second quarter of 2016 racked up 4.7 billion dollars in sales (282 million in net profits, +54% on an annual basis) and expects to close the tax year with revenue amounting to 18 billion. And on the subject of talent, 28 October is the closing date for applications for the Young Leather Scientist Grant 2017. The competition rewards the most deserving researcher in the leather sector under the age of 30 years old with a scholarship worth 1500 euro. The sponsor of the third edition of the award is none other than Lear Corporation.
