Milano Unica wins its bet. Visitors? +16%

After Pitti, Milano Unica also wins its bet, closing with an increment in visitors and growing optimism. This is also due to Brunello Cucinelli, which interests young fashion students. “The decision by the Comitato di Presidenza to bet on a live fair and the trust showed by exhibitors – commented Massimo Mosiello, General Director of Milano Unica (1-2 February, Fieramilano Rho) –, confirmed by buyers’ participation, have awarded the efforts made by organizers to guarantee the fair would take place safely”.

”We thank the 342 companies that participated: +27% compared to the last edition, with a wider offer – claims Alessandro Barberis Canonico, president of Milano Unica –. With them, we also had more visitors”. 3,600 (+16%) companies visited the 34th edition of the textile and accessories’ fair. Significantly hires were also the foreign participants: Great Britain (+195%), Netherlands (+70%), Poland (+29%), USA (+26,5%) and France (+14%). “The recovery of consumption, the reduction of pressure from the pandemic and the improvement of sales – continues Barberis Canonico -, has surely given an injection of faith to both exhibitors and buyers looking for new inputs for the collections”.

Cucinelli’s comment

Barberis Canonico conducted an interview with Brunello Cucinelli, main character of the Back to school event at Milano Unica. “You don’t have to become famous stylists. You can also decide to open a small textile laboratory, one of the many activities that make up the heart and excellence of the Made in Italy chain”, he said to the audience. According to MFF, Cucinelli defined young people as “this century’s paladins”. Mr., Cucinelli also reminded the students that “the sentiment put in is what makes the difference, not the result”.
