Unpaid overtime for US employees cost more than 2 million euros to Burberry

Burberry has recognised the 643 employees of the USA forced extraordinary. The out-of-court settlement costs the British fashion group a $ 2.5 million check (around 2.1 million euros). The amount includes rewards for lawyers and a reimbursement of approximately $ 2,500 per employee. The agreement, which must still be approved by the competent court, is the concluding chapter of the class action launched at the end of 2015 by US store clerks. The accusation – which Burberry is still rejecting – claims that employees were asked to make between 30 and 60 minutes of extraordinary per day without any reward. In periods of increased stress, unpaid work extra work could also arrive at 3-6 hours a day, reports New York Post. New CEO Marco Gobbetti presents a new challenge.
