Business leather, Italian and excellent. Nuti Ivo is among the 30 Italian Fashion Champions. In general, there are 18 SMEs producing and reselling leather products that stand out in the report made by L’Economia, the insert of Corriere della Sera, and Italy Post, result of the analysis of the 2012-2018 financial statements of small and medium enterprises, with turnover between 20 and 500 million euros.

Nuti Ivo among the 30 Italian Fashion Champions

There are two Tuscan tanning realities in the ranking. The first is the holding Colonna, which controls Marbella, Falco Pellami and Conceria 800. The second is Nuti Ivo. According to the experts of the Center for Studies of Italy Post, their ability to reach higher turnover lies in the ability to anticipate the green approach to production’s organisation. Colonna and Conceria Nuti Ivo saw +5% in their balance sheets. Fontana Pelletterie also performed well, with a turnover of 113 million euros in 2018, while Piquadro exceeded 147 million euros, with a 17% percentage increase compared to 2012.

All the leather there is

Among all the 30 SME Champions of the Italian Fashion System, Leo Shoes showed the peak of increase in turnover. The Apulian company reached 109 million euros in 2018, with a variation of 45% compared to 2012. And the heel of Italy that produces footwear for luxury brands sees among the virtuous SMEs also Cofra, operating in Barletta for the accident prevention sector, and Primadonna, which, like Quello giusto one in Veneto, deals mainly with footwear distribution.

What else

Calzaturificio SCARPA, La Sportiva, Imac group (which produces for Igi&Co, Primigi and Enval Soft) and luxury shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti are included in the 30 SMEs Champions for the footwear sector. And not only. There is also a lot of leather in Gutteridge by Capri group (Alcott), Stone Island by Sportswear Company, Fabiana Filippi and Parajumpers by Ape and Partners. From boots to leather jackets for the mountains, Italian manufacturing wins the challenge of  turnovers. Completing the picture of SMEs is Leo France, which manufactures luxury leather goods, and Sugar, which markets Italian brands under the control of foreign capital.
