Church’s too get enticed by sneakers: CH873, a shoe model between tradition and sportswear

From clothing to footwear, the world of formal elegance is adjusting to changing trends. Strict categories, such as work and leisure, are progressively getting looser; consequently, customers look for a suitable mix between elegance and comfort. Looks like a must to some extent. In other words, the best outfit is supposed to be appropriate both at work, for professional meetings, and out of the office. It is no coincidence then that even Church’s, a noble footwear brand, historically well-known worldwide because of a typical British rigour, modified their business strategies to launch their first complete collection of sneakers. The name of the new model, CH873, includes the initials of the brand and the year of its foundation: basically, it is a walking shoe with a casual look. Made of a very light bottom, on which they printed the brand’s logo, it puts together ergonomic and aesthetic elements. In fact, the lower part much reminds of walking sneakers, while its upper part looks somehow vintage, to perfectly fit an elegant and formal attire as well.

Range of options

Customers may find it in fifteen variations: some models, more formal, are entirely made of leather, while others, more casual, are made of suede and nylon. Product lines for men and women just differ in colours: white, black and brown for men; silver, pink, gold and light blue for women. In addition, some original tricolour combinations are also available, both for men and women. The brand officially launched the footwear model, for sale in stores from this month, in London, during a party in Soho.
