Spain’s footwear industry trend in the first six-month period: earnings slightly up, volumes slightly down. The average price is 16,45 euros

Spain’s footwear business is running steady. In fact, in the first six months of the year, Spain’s export of shoes has been slightly changing compared to 2017 same period. According to data supplied by Customs General Department, Spain sold abroad nearly 85 million pairs of shoes: overall revenues exceeded 1,39 billion euros, which means that volumes dropped by 2,6% and value went up by 1,2%. The average price is 16,45 euros per pair. Looking at Italy, in the first 5 months of 2018 the average price of a pair of shoes, being exported, has been 42,20 euros. As for Spain’s main export markets, they are still France, Italy and Germany, as they used to be. As regards imports, they have been slightly changing as well. Italy is currently placing third, after China and Vietnam: trend has been running positively in the first six months of 2018, as volumes augmented by 12,30% (nearly 5,2 million pairs of shoes) and earnings increased by 6,3%, therefore reaching nearly 135,5 million euros.
