Not an acquisition but an “exclusive partnership” to “lock” an innovative technology in the shoes’ soles segment. Vibram signed a strategic partnership with Suolificio Negro in Possagno (Treviso), already a partner of the former, “to create complex performing soles and packaging processes tied to the expanded components of midsoles for high-performing goods”. The partnership will allow Vibram to gain products and exclusive industrial techniques from the Suolificio. Specifically, an “in house” technology created for the sole/midsole combination.
The evolution of the midsole
“We are aware of the competences of Suolificio Negro and its techniques when it comes to working on the treads – says Marco Bramani, CEO of Vibram (in photo) –. We are sure that our partnership will become the expression of an additional evolution, with the goal of developing increasingly performing technologies and products that are more functional and able to offer a lot of value to our customers”. The new technology is still in production. “It will find commercial use on highly innovative new products that will be distributed under the Vibram name”. Of course, they will be sold exclusively.
The two companies have already been collaborating for many years to develop new footwear solutions. “This partnership, thanks to a common goal that translates into a strong productive synergy, will bring added value to our companies and partners. We will develop shoes with more grip, lightness and comfort”, added Paolo Manuzzi, General Director of Vibram (on the left in photo). “The dynamicity of our company, combined with the advanced capacity of Vibram, – concludes Lucio Negro, CEO of Suolificio Negro – will allow us to reach important results in a short period, with economic benefits for both our companies”.
