HModa aims to bring its business model to France, aggregating suppliers across the luxury supply chain. To this end, on Wednesday 10 December it inaugurated its new French operational hub in Aubervilliers, named HModa 126 (pictured). During the opening event, the 19 companies brought together by HModa (co-LAB 19) unveiled a project dedicated to leather.
Taking its business model to France
HModa (Holding Moda) is the division controlled by Holding Industriale (Hind). Through its French outpost, it will coordinate the development of its industrial strategy in the country. Fashion Network reports that the company plans to invest “tens of millions of euros” in France. Three years after opening HModa Showroom&Lab in the heart of the Marais — dedicated to exhibitions and training — the new HModa 126 hub rises in an area already home to facilities belonging to Chanel, Hermès, Berluti, Moynat and others.
The hub
The 3,000-square-metre space houses a prototyping workshop for leather goods, a research and development centre, a showroom and a training centre run by Accademia HModa France. “With this initiative”, reads the company statement, “HModa intends to lay the foundations for a series of targeted investments in small and medium-sized French enterprises with strong positioning in the luxury and high-end segments”. “The inauguration of HModa 126 marks the beginning of our commitment in France as well”, commented founder and chairman Claudio Rovere (pictured right), “to provide long-term support to local manufacturers and help build the future of the luxury industry”.
