Leather in Everyday Life: the fourth World Leather Congress (New York, July 16th) presents itsel

Try to think about it: leather is a constant element throughout our day. Leather is characterized by: “multiple positive aspects with which people interact every day”. This is the strating point of the topic that will give life to the 4th edition of World Leather Congress, the international tanning conference that will take place this coming July 16th, in New York. Organizing the event is LIA (Leather Industries of America), together with USHSLA (US Hide and Leather Association), under the umbrella of ICT (International Council of Tanners), which will be joined by the support of UNIC – Italian Tanners, and Lineapelle, whose spinoff fair will begin the day after, July 17th, and will end the day after, July 18th. In comparison to earlier editions, this year’s formula is updated, placing a spotlight on culture and fashion, and offering reflection moments and sharing opportunities, based, of course, on the concept of Leather in Everyday Life.

The different contributions are still being decided, but the structure of the event has been defined. It will be divided in three sessions. The first will focus on the theme of the modernity of leather, in light of its historic and cultural baggage. The second will focus on sustainability. While the third, and last session, will come alive within the motto that supports WLC: The leather experience, the one that everybody lives every day, more times a day.
