Former Gucci CEO Marco Bizzarri joins Armani’s board, along with other well-known names who strengthen the Milanese group’s governance. Meanwhile, Kering CEO Luca de Meo continues to poach top executives from Renault, naming the new CFO for Gucci. Pollini, on the other hand, appoints the general manager.
Bizzarri joins Armani’s board
The Giorgio Armani group has completed “on schedule, smoothly and serenely” the procedures necessary to execute the will of its founder, who passed away last September. The last step was the appointment of the new Board of Directors. Its members now include Pantaleo Dell’Orco (chairman), Silvana Armani, and Andrea Camerana, representing the Armani family. Then there are Giuseppe Marsocci (CEO of the group) and Federico Marchetti, who were already on the board. Three additional directors have been added: Marco Bizzarri (in photo from Imagoeconomica), John Hooks (a long-time manager at Giorgio Armani), and Angelo Moratti.
Toni Belloni of LVMH is not on the board, as some had speculated. “The board of directors represents the best guarantee”, said Dell’Orco, as reported by Fashion Network, “for the continuation, enhancement, and updating of the idea of beauty, the business model, and the ethical values built by Armani”. The operational team led by CEO Marsocci and headed by Dell’Orco has also been defined. Corriere della Sera names three top managers, all with the role of deputy general manager: Michele Tacchella (global chief branding), Laura Tadini (human resources), and Daniele Ballestrazzi (CFO).
Kering recruits again from Renault
After Thomas Cuntz (Kering’s global talent development and people engagement head) and Philippine de Schonen (the group’s financial communications director), another former Renault employee joins the luxury giant. CEO de Meo has entrusted Gianluca de Ficchy with the role of CFO of Gucci, effective December 1. He will replace Alberto Valente, who left the company in September after spending almost 17 years with the brand, reports Bloomberg. There has also been an important appointment at Aeffe, which has promoted Natalia Battaglini to general manager of Pollini. Battaglini joined the footwear brand’s team in 2018, where she held the position of head of style and merchandising for footwear and leather goods. She previously worked at Valentino and Zegna, writes Fashion Network.
