LVMH: The first half as the first quarter marks + 15%. Leather goods and fashion dominate

LVMH confirms the record reached in the first three months of the year with a + 15%. Same trend for Hermès that in the past few days reportedly closed the first half of 2017 with a + 11% turnover, with leather goods at + 14%. LVMH has a total turnover (19.7 billion euros), the Fashion & Leather goods Division has collected 6.9, increasing by 17%. “This outcome is a result of the trend of all markets. In the context of current geopolitical and economic instability, creativity and quality, founding values of our group, are reliable benchmarks “said LVMH chief Bernard Arnault. The next reference is to the direct entry of the French giant into online business, with the launch of the 24 Sèvres portal and the launch of e-commerce in China. “The growing digitisation of our activities strengthens the desirability of our brands” he continued. Asked how 2017 will end, he declared “The second half of the year will be dealt with with caution,” confirming “a concrete policy of rigorous management.”
