The restyling that regenerates iconic bags: Longchamp’s Le Pilage gains new geometries, Delvaux’s Brilliant is XXL

The restyling of iconic bags. Japanese design studio Nendo reinterprets Longshamp‘s Le Pilage, Jean Colonna does the same to Delvaux‘s Brilliant model. Nendo, founded by the Japanese designer Oki Sato, has transformed the iconic Le Pilage folding bag into an everyday object made of nylon and Russian leather. The Longchamp x Nendo collection, as reported by Fashion Network, is composed of three models: the first has a removable and foldable buttress thanks to which the bag becomes a cube; the second model is a conical bag; the third is a circular one. The collection will be launched next July 2nd. The result of the collaboration between the French designer Jean Colonna and Delvaux, on the other hand, is an extra large version of the Brilliant model. “I took some key elements of Brilliant, I have enlarged it, deconstructed it and used a new leather, making it similar to a surrealist work” explained Colonna to MF Fashion. As we learn from Vogue, the Brilliant XXL is made from Delvaux’s Dream leather, a very fine finely worked calf. The new model will be on sale from April in only 300 specimens.
