We have a name. Or rather: THE name. Sabato De Sarno is Gucci‘s new creative director. The fashion House announced the appointment together with Kering: “De Sarno will lead the House’s Design Studio reporting to Marco Bizzarri, Gucci’s president and CEO, with responsibility for defining and expressing the House’s creative vision across the women’s, men’s, leather goods, accessories and lifestyle collections”. De Sarno will present his debut collection at Milan Women’s Fashion Week in September 2023.

Who is De Sarno
Sabato De Sarno comes from another brand on the crest of a wave, Valentino, where he held the role of Fashion Director, overseeing the men’s and women’s collections. Pierpaolo Piccioli‘s right-hand man, therefore. De Sarno, of Neapolitan origin, took his first creative steps at Prada in 2005 and then moved on to Dolce & Gabbana and, finally, Valentino in 2009.

He will lead our creative teams with a distinctive vision that will help write this exciting next chapter, reinforcing the fashion authority of the house while leveraging its rich heritage.
