UITIC is drawing near as registrations speed up. President Morin says: “Footwear industry to face a challenge for innovation”

Around 400 professionals will take part in the event: coming from the various stages of the industry, they are supposed to represent footwear and its sustainable innovation. Countdown then to the approaching 20th edition of UITIC, the international congress of shoe industry technicians, on the agenda in Porto (Portugal) on May 16-18. “The latest events held in Guangzhou in 2013 and in Chennai in 2016 – says Yves Morin, president of UITIC – were successful. Moreover, the registrations trend is further evidence that curiosity about the meeting is growing, as the footwear industry consider the conference to be a fixture, not to be missed at all”. Entrepreneurs, technicians and researchers, coming from all over the world, are expected to turn up in Porto. “Our aim – wraps up Morin – is to show that footwear industry is wealthy while growing in terms of innovation and sustainability. On top of that, manufacturing can’t simply increase while meeting global demand: we are bound to face a challenge with regard to process, materials and product durability”.
