Korea, Lineapelle Award discloses Italian circularity to students

Lineapelle Award 2020 is really getting going. After its September presentation, 24 students, coming from the Fashion and Industrial Design departments of Hongik University (Seoul), are about to start a full-immersion activity, which will be going on for six days (October 16-18, 21 and 28-29): during the educational session, they will closely focus on made in Italy materials for the fashion industry. To begin with, they first attended #sharinginnovation, a workshop on the two projects exhibited at Lineapelle latest edition: Innovation Square and The Leather (Re) Cycling Exhibition, which urge to think about disruption and circularity, and their common value, that is, sustainability. Shortly after, Dyloan Studio presented their Moda Futuribile (Feasible Fashion) project.

The contest

Such is the task assigned to Korean students: to turn their knowledge of the leather manufacturing industry into fashion projects (about apparel, accessories, eyewear and design: application choice is free) that possibly mirror national culture. The winners of the Lineapelle Award, two of them, will fly over to Milan, in 2020, to discover the exhibition. During October workshop session, they will first submit their early concepts. The agenda goes on by presenting a few seminars on materials, trends and initiatives, in collaboration with Hyundai group.
