Russo di Casandrino launches Academy for under 30 talents

Ongoing staff training, team building and an in-house Academy for under 30 talents. Russo di Casandrino, “a company from Napoli that for over 60 years has been producing high-quality leather for the leading luxury brands”, is writing a new page in its development and consolidation strategy. It does so by “investing in young people and putting human resources at the centre”, explains the chairman of the board, Gianni Russo. A strategy, reads a press note, based on a vision “that places sustainable business at the heart of its activities. In recent years, the company has invested heavily in enhancing human capital as an element of growth and competitiveness”.

The Academy for under 30 talents

“This company is in its fifth generation”, RdC explains. “The children continue the business with production and commercial responsibilities. The tanning sector is a craft with a great family tradition, but the company invests a lot in human resources”. This is where “the many initiatives aimed at strengthening the skills of the company’s staff and bringing in young talent” come from. The “presentation and approval of the Fondimpresa Avv. 1.23 Active Policies Training Plan” is part of this direction. Goal: “The activation of a real Academy aimed at the under-30s, involving resources projected into the processing of high quality leather”.

A new Humanism

“For us, training is a company asset and an essential aspect in order to continue, after more than 60 years, on our path of growth”, emphasises Gianni Russo. “A new Humanism is possible in the business world, through the introduction of a mentality oriented towards the needs and requirements of personnel. We are convinced that only by working in this direction and providing all possible tools to our young people, we can continue to make a difference in the various national and international markets in which we compete”.

It is no coincidence that in the last two years, Russo di Casandrino has included 27 employees under 30 in its workforce, to which a further 10 can be added considering the other two companies in the group (ART and WBT). “In our sustainability report”, Gianni Russo concludes, “the two key concepts are environmental sustainability and human resources. A combination that we will continue to pursue in the future, in order to ensure growth not only for our company, but also to set the course for our industry”.

Next Gen Summer School

Among the initiatives launched by the Neapolitan tannery with a view to enhancing human capital, “is the partnership with the Next Gen Summer School by Fondazione Saccone”. Which is “recognised nationally as one of the main HUBs of excellence on the themes of skills and knowledge. A unique training course aimed at young graduates and undergraduates”. Russo di Casandrino “participated as a challenge partner by entrusting three resources with a project aimed at presenting innovative solutions in the field of marketing and communication”. Next Gen Summer School, in fact, aims at “training professional figures capable of supporting local companies in a path of change in response to new market challenges, sustainability, and the opportunities provided by Digital Transformation”.
