Over 950 exhibitors, in safety, in presence: Lineapelle is there

“A safe fair” and one that responds to “market needs“. After confirming its dates from February 22 to 24 (in conjunction with the Milan women’s fashion shows, February 22/28, presented yesterday), Lineapelle is warming up its engines to open its 99th edition. An edition in presence, returns to a dimension similar to the pre-Covid one, hosting over 950 exhibitors. And that proposes a rich program of events that will address the themes of responsible innovation and circular sustainability in a varied and transversal way.

Over 950 exhibitors

At Lineapelle 99, there will be “over 950 exhibitors (two-thirds of whom will be Italian) – as stated in a note – from 31 countries“. In other words, “30% more than the September 2021 edition, the last one held in attendance. A number not far from the pre-Covid one. There are almost 500 tanneries present; over 300 accessory and component manufacturers; 100 fabric and synthetic manufacturers.

Maximum safety

It will be a “maximum security edition concerning all anti-Covid protocols”.  It will also be able to open its doors to foreign buyers who have not been vaccinated with an EMA vaccine (Sputnik, Sinovac, Soberana, Covaxin)”. They, however, will have to ‘present a negative antigenic (valid 48 hours) or molecular (valid 72 hours) swab’. This ‘reinforces the strategic importance of Lineapelle 99’s decision to confirm that it will be held from Tuesday 22 to Thursday 24 February’. And to reaffirm its role as a global reference point for a sector that, “between international supply and demand, is worth 150 billion dollars and employs about one and a half million people”.

Everything that will happen at Lineapelle

There will be a lot going on. In addition to the usual presentation and in-depth stylistic analysis, this year relating to the 2023 summer season, the spotlight will be on the interconnected world of responsible innovation and circular sustainability. For example, “A New Point of Materials returns, after its debut in September 2021 and some significant international presentations”. Alongside it, an area where “visitors will be able to discover the latest frontiers of Manufacturing Technology in relation to the customisation of materials and products”. And, also, the Leather and its Circularity space, where “discover the most important business projects linked to the circular path of Italian leather and manufacturing that bases its identity on upcycling”.

Regenerative mobility

Lineapelle 99 will present a preview of “the Shift to Regenerative Mobility project, the result of two years of collaboration between Lineapelle and Hyundai Transys (a global producer of car parts and an affiliate of Hyundai Motor Group). A concept car with leather interiors, an advanced and futuristic example of regenerative mobility, will be exhibited and presented in Hall 9″.

Mipel Lab and Green Theatre

Another return to the fair: Mipel Lab, the leather sourcing exhibition. The Green Theatre space is making its debut. Here, a series of “half-hour instant talks on the innovative sustainable approach of exhibiting companies will be held, analysed at 360°”. Finally, Amici per la Pelle, “the creative competition reserved for students from secondary schools in the Italian leather districts, is back. This edition’s theme: Olympic Tan – La pelle nello Sport”.
