Pitti Uomo slips tino July, Salone del Mobile confirms September

Fairs: yer or no? In presence or virtual? The Italian event system warms up the engines. The first good news is the confirmation of Pitti Uomo, which slips in July and is not held, however, on the original date of mid-June. Then, going ahead to Salone del Mobile in Milan: doubts hovered over the September edition, dispelled by the organising body.

Slips in July

Pitti Uomo has a date. The hundredth edition of Pitti Immagine fair will be staged from Wednesday, June 30th, to Friday, July 2nd. A fair in attendance “in the name of concreteness and pride”, explained president Claudio Marenzi. An announcement that is also good for the spirit after the “ping-pong” between the hypotheses of June and July. Eventually, it will almost be half and half. “We are aware of the responsibilities that, returning first to the physical format of trade fairs, we have towards the entire fashion sector and institutions”, adds Marenzi.

Fashion weeks

The Tuscan event will take place after London Fashion Week (June 12-14) and Milan Man Fashion Week (June 18-21). In this case, the physical format could integrate the virtual one. At the end of the Milanese event, the Parisian one will start, which will last until Sunday, June 27. Returning to Pitti, the Filati edition will occupy the slot June 28-30, while the Bimbo edition will go in parallel with the men’s edition.

Confirmation of the Salone

Milan will host the 59th edition of the Salone del Mobile from 5th to 10th September. A date that helps giving hope after the doubts of the past few weeks. “At the end of a constructive internal debate and an intense work project concluded with an unanimous vote – explain the organisers – the leaders of Salone del Mobile Milano have defined the steps that, in the coming days, will determine the path that will lead to the organisation of the September edition”. The event will be in attendance, thus resuming an interrupted thread.
