The thrill of attending in person
Attending Pitti is a “unique thrill” for Massimo Cabbia and its handbags’ brand (Manikomio Dsgn), which was opened just over 1 year ago. “I had closed my previous work experience at Pitti, and now I am back with my own project at a difficult time, but I have created the basis for my new adventure. It’s great to be here”. For the occasion, the brand has prepared his handbag in crocodile version, for a price of 10,500 euro, along with two models in python leather.
“It was important to be at Pitti. We are happy and we see a lot of enthusiasm in being able to once again meet buyers face-to-face”, stated Salina Ferretti, CEO of footwear manufacturer FALC, which has exhibited its men and children’s brands. “Our clients also enjoyed the fair and out presence. How can one not come to Italy and Florence for fashion?”, closed the vice-president of Assocalzaturifici (Association part of Confindustria Moda).
A wish to return to normality
“There is a wish to return to normality, of physical contact. The same desire is shared by buyers”, claims Giampietro Melchiorri (in photo on the right with his niece Federica), participating to Pitti with its brand Alexander Hotto. “In these first few hours we noticed the foreseen reduction of the number of visitors, but there are more quality ones, continues Mr. Melchiorri. According to the entrepreneur, Pitti comes at a particular moment, as in just a few days summer sales will begin. For this very reason, it’s important to know production times for new collections well, to begin the selling campaign well.
