If Bulgari treat Serpenti 2023 bags like jewellery

There are bags that are meant to shine. And it’s certainly easier if they are Bulgari. Mireia Lopez Montoya, Leather Goods and Accessory Managing Director of the LVMH brand, knows this well. In Milan for fashion week, she presented the Serpenti bag line for spring-summer 2023. A collection where leather dresses clutches and shoulder bags, alternating with other precious materials. And for which the designer chose Emerald green as the main colour, “which recalls emerald and is particularly appreciated by the Maison’s customers”.

Not only Emerald. “Then lots of gold,” she continues with La Repubblica, “for the luxurious workmanship also with crystal inserts. The top shades of the Serpentine clutch bag, Serpenti Ellipse, Serpenti Reverse and Serpenti Cabochon range from lilac to pink, from yellow to anemone”. These creations are in fact unique pieces, and the colours in which they are declined make the bags a bit like precious stones, destined to attract positive energy.

But how many bags does Bulgari sell today, post Covid era? “We buy fewer but better, and a certain awareness has grown,” Lucia Silvestri, creative director of Bulgari jewellery, reminds La Repubblica. “Today there is a greater demand for beautiful, innovative, long-lasting objects with an eye to sustainability, like ours”.
