Manufacture Roannaise invests: 3 ateliers and 900 hires in 8 years

Manufacture Roannaise de Maroquinerie was born in France. And it was born with big plans: to invest in three production sites and 900 jobs within 7-8 years. But pending the construction of the new factories, production will start in early 2023 through the rental of a shed in Coteau. The business initiative bears the signature of the VSR group, which owns four companies with a total of more than 400 employees. The total investment is estimated at around 25 million euros.

Three sites for 900 employees

Luxury brands will soon be able to count on a new French production partner. Franck Allilaire, the entrepreneur at the head of the VSR group, is pursuing an industrial project for the production of leather goods. Last July, he established the company Manufacture Roannaise de Maroquinerie. Within 7-8 years, no less than 900 jobs should be created in three factories. As Le Journal des Entreprises details, the first atelier will be built in Mably: a 3,000 square metres building that should be completed by 2025 and will house 250 to 300 employees. The second will be near the town of Roanne, while for the third there is talk of Charlieu, but the location is not definitive. However, production will start next year in a rented building in Cocteau. Personnel recruitment has already started.

25 million euros investment

It was the mayor of Roanne, Yves Nicolin, who gave the information. Manufacture Roannaise de Maroquinerie will specialise in the production of high-end leather goods. The total investment is estimated at around 25 million euros. The aim is to serve French luxury brands.
