Lineapelle 98 opens its doors to the present and future of the luxury and fashion segments. The whole chain will meet there to compare opinions of both commerce and style, as well as strategically looking beyond present times. All will be looking for realistic hints of the near future. And more. This edition of Lineapelle, which opens today in Fieramilano Rho and closes on the 21st of February, contains a rich program filled with events and activities. Some will be reassuringly familiar, while others will be new. For all there is to know about Lineapelle 98, read the below.

Times

Lineapelle 98 will open at 9:00 and close at 18:30 both today and tomorrow (February 20th), On Friday (21st), the last day, the entrance will be at 9:00 and the closing at 17:00

Logistics

There will be about 1,200 exhibitors from over 40 countries. Their number (as it happens with that of the visitors) is strongly conditioned by the forced void left by Chinese operators. Types of products and exhibitors:  tanneries (pavilions 9, 11, 13, and 15); accessories and components (pavilions 22 and 24); synthetics and textiles (pavilion 9); chemicals, stylists, school, press and services (pavilions 9, 11, 15, 22)

Fashion trends conferences

Lineapelle 98 showcases stylistic trends for the 2021 summer seasons. The name: The Era of Simplifying. As in the previous editions, the creative themes of the near future will be presented by Lineapelle’s Fashion Committee throughout 4 different seminars. These will be held today and tomorrow (19th and 21st), at 11:00 in Italian and t 13:00 in English. The location: LEM Fashion Theater (Corso Italia, on the side of pavilion 13). Tickets for these events must be purchased.

Trend areas focused on sustainability

Present at Lineapelle 98, as in the past, are the trend areas that showcase over 2,000 samples and innovative prototypes brough to the fair by its exhibitors. These are located inside pavilions 9, 13 and 22. This year, they will have a stronger focus on sustainability, which will be expressed via a series of infographics. Most importantly though, samples that obtained the ICEC (Institute of Quality Certification for the Leather Sector) certification, will be marked with a sticker showcasing its proven sustainability.

Events and seminars

Many courses, events and seminars. We provide in-depth information, regarding the previously mentioned, in the next news articles coming out today, tomorrow and later. Here we list them out.
Today, February 19th at 14:30, at the conference room LEM (Ponte dei Mari) in Fieramilano Rho, UNIC – Italian Tanners, organized the seminar “Leather supply chain commitment to sustainability: traceability and animal welfare”. The event is free to attend and open to all. It will be held in Italian, with live translating of the content to English.

Today, February 19th at 15:30, at the LEM Fashion Theater (Corso Italia, on the side of pavilion 13), will be held the “K Leather Creativity” seminary, as well as the award ceremony of the Lineapelle Award contest, organized with Lineapelle in collaboration with Hongik University. All prototypes made by the participants are showcased inside the Spazio Korean Creativity, in front of the entrance of pavilion 9.

Today till February 29th, at the Spazio Lineapelle of Palazzo Gorani in Milan (Via Brisa), it’s possible to visit the Questione di Pelle exhibit.

Starting from today, all can vote at the fair and online (UNIC – Italian Tanners’ Facebook page), on works made by the 1,000 students participating in the Amici per la Pelle contest. The award ceremony of the winners will take place on Friday, February 21st, at the Fieramilano Auditorium (Service center).

Throughout the whole duration of Lineapelle, Polimoda Firenze presents the results of the Lineapelle Merchandising Collection contest (inside a space situated in front of pavilion 9). Some students of the Tuscan university, moreover, will return to the fair with their cameras to tell the fair’s story through their lenses. This project is called Lineapelle Phototelling.

Throughout the whole duration of Lineapelle, the fair will showcase the two models of the winners of the Lineapelle-organized event that took place at Tokyo Leather Fair (Japanese fair). These will be put in plain view in aisle A of pavilion 9.

Throughout the whole duration of Lineapelle, the fair showcases the restores 17th century painting “Ritratto di Comandante con Baffi e Moschetta”, sided with a leather copy of the outfit work by the subject in the painting. The objects will be in aisle A of pavilion 9.
