Leather chain and sustainable efforts: seminar at Lineapelle

Filiera pelle e impegno sostenibile: seminario a Lineapelle

Taking out any considerations over the period, politics, health emergency and others, there is one key topic that is more than just recurrent. The by-now abused one: sustainability. This matter is now a tool of marketing agencies, which is why UNIC – Italian Tanners, started its own strategic campaign focused on rationality and concreteness. For example, the recently launched initiative is focused exactly on this want of Italian tanners, as its slogan says: Real Leather is Real Sustainability. In other words, it shows that Italy’s tanning segment doesn’t fear comparisons in terms of green matters. Its identity is intrinsically green, and has been for a while. And moreover, it’s real, concrete and quantifiable. It needs to be told in depth. It’s not enough to just promote that. So, Lineapelle also does its own by hosting UNIC – Italian Tanners’ seminar on “the leather and chain and its sustainable efforts”.

Today at the fair

The seminary organized by UNIC – Italian Tanneries, in collaboration with Lineapelle, is titled “Leather supply chain commitment to sustainability: traceability and animal welfare”. Topic: tanning raw material. The event is scheduled to take place today at 14:30 at the LEM conference room (Ponte dei Mari) in Fieramilano Rho. The event is free and open to all visitors, and it will be conducted in Italian, with live English translation.

360-degree sustainability

“Sustainability – explain from UNIC – is a key issue for the tanning industry. It gradually became part of the sector dynamics. And over time, this concept has extended to the entire supply chain. Starting from the supply that, now more than ever, cannot ignore the traceability of supplies and compliance with regulations, standards and good practices regarding animal welfare”.

Sustainability report

“The event – UNIC concludes – will be opened with the presentation of the new Sustainability Report of the Italian tanning industry. This new edition analyses the sector by filtering the objectives of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. These are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals”. Through their “filter”, UNIC explains how Italian tanneries are at the forefront of their constant commitment to an increasingly responsible supply chain.
