Fendi enlists Kim Jones for women: “It's a huge privilege”

Fendi enlists Kim Jones as creative director of women’s Haute Couture, Prêt-à-Porter and Fur Collection. The designer will retain his role as head of the Dior Homme style office. His first Fendi collection (winter season 2021/2022) will be presented in February 2021, during Milan fashion week. Silvia Venturini Fendi will continue to hold the role of creative director of the men’s and women’s accessories collections.

The brand from Roma thus filled the creative void that opened last year, with the death of Karl Lagerfeld, who had been at the creative helm of the brand for 54 years. “To be able to join the house of Fendi as well as continuing my work for Dior Men’s is a huge privilege. Working in two such prestigious houses is a true honour as a designer” said Jones (source: Vogue). Jones is considered one of the best designers around today for his ability to combine streetwear suggestions with luxury tailoring.

Arnault’s words

Bernard Arnault, CEO of the LVMH group, to which both Dior and Fendi belong, is sure about this too: “Kim Jones is a great talent and has continuously proven his ability to adapt to the codes and heritage of the LVMH houses while revisiting them with great modernity and audacity. At Fendi, I am convinced that his vision and passion will highly contribute to the success of the women’s collections”. (Mv)
