Record October in Brazil. Brazil’s meat exports take off and sets a new historic record. This is the outcome of the data shared by SECEX (Secretaria de Comércio Exterior) and elaborated by ABIEC (Associação Brasileira das Indústrias Exportadoras de Carnes).

October record

Brazil sold 185,537 tons of red meat abroad, during the month of October 2019, equal to 15% more than October 2018. The number represents the largest amount ever exported by Brazil during a single month. In economic terms, sales were equivalent to a value of 808.4 million USD, 30% more than the same period of the previous year. Revenue grew by 33%, while volume increased by 28% in comparison to the same period of the previous year.

A positive year

During the whole period covering January to October, Brazilian meat export took off. During the 10 months considered in this analysis, the country exported 1,463,922 tons of red meat, for a value of 5.776 billion USD. The numbers show a 9.9% growth in volume and 7.5% increase in value. “The results – comments ABIEC’s president Antonio Jorge Camardelli – showcase the consolidation of red meat sales from Brazil in the main international markets”. Specifically, during the last month, 65,827 tons of red meat have left for China’s shores: 62% more than September’s amount.
