Expo Riva Schuh (surprisingly) moves its Winter edition up

Expo Riva Schuh decided to move up its winter edition. Earlier in the week, during a press conference, the president of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, Roberto Pellegrini, announced that the fair dedicated to the medium segment of the footwear industry will take place in December, from the 11th to the 14th. The decision was taken after lengthy discussions with the stakeholders. The event will have a new layout and safety measures to ensure all security/safety norms are respected.

Expo Riva Schuh moves up its winter edition

“Within a context that is continuously evolving, such as the one we find ourselves in today, it’s necessary to make extraordinary decisions: the new dates chosen for Expo Riva Schuh and Gardabags aim at safeguarding the reference marketplace of the two fairs – explains Mr. Pellegrini -. We have maintained an open communication channel with exhibitors and buyers throughout the last two months, both via survey and direct conversations with reference institutions and international agencies.

We found, from this attentive analysis, that the shared wish was to be proactive and reactive during this time, trying to transform the crisis into an opportunity”. The dialogue conducted led organizers to anticipate the January edition to December. The choice was commented by Pellegrini as “exceptional”, to which he added that “no final decisions have been made for the 2021 winter edition”. The dates for next year’s event will be chosen once a new meeting among stakeholders will take place, in the upcoming months.

New layout and rules

Riva del Garda Fierecongressi’s general director, Alessandra Albarelli, illustrated the new rules that will allow the fair to take place safely. In line with the protocols drafted by authorities, procedures aiming at the disinfection of spaces and the use of safety tools (masks, gloves, etc.) are being implemented. “The number of people accessing the fair will also be monitored inside individual stands, and access will be granted only with prior registration, while the fair’s running time will be extended – explains Albarelli -. New layouts and spaces will also be presented at the fair, as they will be redesigned to ensure social distancing”.
